Formerly Meeples

QuoDrox tiles started as just a hobby and excuse to play with my 3d printer. I was toying around with "meeple-like" shapes for table-top RPGs after not having the figures I needed for a larger encounter. The printer lacked the details I needed so I had them laser cut out of maple. The meeples were cool but had a number of drawbacks:
- No clear place for numbers
- Expensive to have cut and paint
- Fine details were fragile
- Didn't slide into dice bags easily.
It was a game of Qwirkle that turned me onto the idea of tiles which solved all the issues. Still, a bunch of conventions from the previous build remain. All the monster images avoid fine fragile details and are made with flat bases to stand up. Though neither of these are a concern anymore I've kept the conventions to force the designs into a more unified look. Creativity vs limitations is one of the best ways to go.
